At Comal Active, we fully subscribe to the CrossFit methodology of “constantly-varied functional movements performed at high-intensity.” Put simply, our training workouts consist of movements that are typical to everyday life. They’re rarely repeated which makes them fun and keeps your body in a preferred state of constant adaptation. Our workouts are also very challenging, so you get the highest return on investment for time spent in the gym.
CrossFit in 100 words
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train all major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean and jerk, and snatch. Similarly master the basics of gymnastics: Pull-ups, dips, rope climbs, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc., hard and fast. Five to Six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
We post a new workout to our website daily. We program the full hour so you can expect your coaches to guide you through a thorough warm-up, a 15-20 min strength/skill session and finally a conditioning segment. We take special care to demonstrate all prescribed movements and your certified coach will make you aware of alternative options should you not feel comfortable for any reason. We will never ask you to attempt something you don’t want to do. Our clients often tell us how enjoyable it is that all they need to is show-up, and we take care of everything else.
